Ottawa is a lot of different parking situations. There are rowhouses in the Glebe and Hintonburg with a single spot out back, apartment and condo buildings in Centretown and along the O-Train line, and suburban driveways in every direction. Many cars here live on a commute along the Queensway, the Parkway or Bank Street, and it shows in the paint and the carpets.
The winter does most of the damage. Road salt gets into the wheel wells, the door sills and the floor mats, and by March the lower half of the vehicle is a grey film. A hand wash and an interior deep clean in spring, or a wax in the fall, makes a visible difference.
If you park in a condo or workplace lot, ask the property manager first. Tell us about the spot when you book and, if it allows the work, we come to you.
