A ceramic coating is a liquid layer that bonds to the paint and cures into a hard, slick surface. It is not a wax. It lasts much longer, makes the vehicle easier to wash and helps it shed water and road film.
It is applied over corrected, clean paint, and that preparation is most of the job. We wash and decontaminate the surface, polish out any swirls and light scratches, wipe each panel down, then apply the coating by hand in sections. Whatever is on the paint when the coating goes on stays under it, which is why we do not skip the correction.
