An engine bay collects oil mist, dust, leaves and road salt, and over time it ends up caked on everything. It is not something most owners think about until they open the hood to sell the vehicle or show it off.
We clean it carefully. The engine needs to be cool, the battery terminals, fuse boxes and other electrical connections are covered first, and a degreaser is worked in with soft brushes. It is rinsed gently, not blasted, then dried with air and microfibre and the plastics and hoses are dressed so they look right rather than shiny.
