Headlight Restoration in Ottawa
Cloudy, yellowed headlight lenses sanded and polished clear, then sealed with a UV protective layer.
Plastic headlight lenses are made with a clear coating that weathers over time. Sun, salt and road grit break it down, and the lens turns hazy or yellow. That cuts the light you get on the road and ages the whole front of the vehicle.
We restore the lens by sanding away the damaged outer layer in stages, then polishing it back to clear. A UV protective layer is applied after, because a freshly polished lens with nothing on it will cloud again. The paint around the headlight is masked off first so only the lens is worked on.
Tell us where the vehicle is parked when you book and we will confirm what we need for the service you picked.
Restoration works on oxidation and surface haze. A lens that is cracked, or fogged on the inside because moisture has got in, is a different problem, and we will tell you if that is what we find.

Headlight Restoration: common questions
They will be much clearer. Restoration removes the damaged outer layer, and the result depends on how deep the damage goes.
A UV protective layer helps slow it down, but exposure to sun and salt is the same as before. We do not put a number on it.
Sanding and polishing only treat the outside. If moisture has got inside the lens, it needs a different repair, and we will say so.
